Pollie Pedal 23rd Annual Charity Bike Ride

The Wandering Warriors board and executive are pleased and proud to announce the selection of WW as the newest beneficiary of the Pollie Pedal: the annual long-distance fundraising bike ride that gives smaller communities the opportunity to meet members of parliament. The Pollie Pedal event began in 1998 – the vision of former prime minister Tony Abbott and other state and federal MP’s – to raise money for charities and connect with smaller communities.

Now in its 25th year, the annual Pollie Pedal event has seen participants rider over 23,000 kilometres in support of charities, raising over $7 million for organisations such as Carers Australia and Ronald McDonald House. The most recent beneficiary was Soldier On, a fellow veterans’ charity.

We are honoured to receive the Pollie Pedal baton from Soldier On and acknowledge their work in serving the veteran community. We look forward to connecting with all the volunteers who have helped make this signature event such a widely recognised success, and to this year’s ride which will begin and end in Perth, covering communities scattered over 1000kms of southwest Western Australia.

A special thank you to Angus Taylor MP, Andrew Hastie MP, and our Wandering Warriors Chairman Brett Sangster for representation at today’s launch event at Kings Park in Perth.

Bring on the 7 – 14th October 2023 – the countdown begins!
