Pollie Pedal 2023 – Supports Special Operation Veterans and Families

An Unforgettable Journey

Wandering Warriors embarked on an incredible 8-day cycling adventure through Western Australia’s southern suburbs and towns. A team of 32 riders covering over 1000kms, raising awareness and funds for Wandering Warriors to enable us to continue to provide services and programmes to our Special Operations Veteran community. Here are some standout highlights.

Community Support:

We extend our sincere gratitude to the local politicians and residents who came out to meet us along the way. Your warm welcome and encouragement fuelled our spirits, reminding us of the invaluable strength that communities bring to charitable events. Public donations and the generosity of these local communities raised ~$30,000. We are truly thankful.

To our valued sponsors, your unwavering support is the cornerstone of our success. Your contributions will make a substantial difference to our Special Operations Veterans and their families. We thank you for believing in Wandering Warriors and helping us achieve this incredible goal.

Fundraising Milestone:

Pollie Pedal 2023 was not just a cycling adventure, it was a journey towards creating positive change in the lives of our Special Operations veterans and their families. Graeme Northey of Pollie Pedal and his incredible team of volunteers, with Hon Tony Abbott, Angus Taylor MP, and Andrew Hastie MP, raised ~$200,000, a testament to the continued focus and generosity of all of those supporting Wandering Warriors’ mission.

Rapid Relief Team:

A heartfelt shout-out to the incredible Rapid Relief Team, who provided a vital and warm welcome each morning, not to forget the hot coffee and carbs. Your support in ensuring the riders were fuelled and ready for the day’s intense ride was invaluable. You are a truly exceptional group of people.

Reflecting on Pollie Pedal 2023, we’re so proud of what was achieved, and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our sponsors, local communities, volunteers, and the dedication of the riders. To me, 3 words can sum up the group. Resilience. Friendship. Unity.  It was an unforgettable experience, and collectively, we look forward to continuing our mission to make a positive difference in the lives of our Special Operations veterans and their families, through our Education, Employment, Mentoring and Welfare programs.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
