Who We Need
The ideal candidate will have machine operating experience and a background in orchard work. Experience in avocados, citrus or stone fruit is highly regarded. You must be trustworthy, responsible and capable of working independently. Switched on and able to identify and report potential issues to the Farm Manager, you’ll take care of machinery and be committed to the effective running of the orchards.

Job Description
Our client is looking for four new staff members for their 30,000 tree orchards, set across seven properties in Berry Springs, Northern Territory. Responsible for carrying out a range of day-to-day farm operations you’ll be a highly capable tractor operator undertaking slashing, air blasting, spraying (sometimes at night) and more. Working in the orchards, you’ll perform regular tree maintenance including; chain sawing, pruning, termite inspections and checking for any potential issues.

You will be required to provide assistance with irrigation and chemical handling for fertilising and pest control and perform regular monitoring of the 5000 sprinklers.

This is a full-time, permanent role that sees you working 50 hours/week through March – November at busy harvest time and reducing to 40 hours/week in maintenance mode from November to March.

Accommodation for singles is available for only $80/week or there are plenty of housing options available locally. With plenty of autonomy, your duties include (but are not limited to):

• Crop harvesting
• Machinery operation
• Crop spraying
• Orchard maintenance
• Irrigation/Fertigation
